Jean Nordhaus is the review editor of Poet Lore. She has a doctorate in modern German literature from Yale. She has taught at the University of Maryland and UDC, and served as Poetry Coordinator at the Folger Shakespeare Library. She served for six years as President of Washington Writers’ Publishing House and was a Fellow at the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference in 1987 and a Staff Associate from 1992 through 1994.
Her most recent collection of poems, Innocence, won Ohio State University Press’s Charles B. Wheeler award and was published in 2006. Her earlier collections include The Porcelain Apes of Moses Mendelssohn; My Life in Hiding (a Colladay Award winner, published in Quarterly Review of Literature, Vol. XXX); Bracelet of Lies; and A Language of Hands.
